Hawkesbury Upton is nearly five miles from the nearest town, so we strive to offer additional services that our community needs and wants. Here you’ll find details of the current services we offer, but we plan to add more as part of the Stores’ development.

Our partnership with Ridgewood Cleaners means we can take care of those tricky cashmere jumpers, duvets, dinner jackets and party dresses. Dry cleaning is collected each Tuesday and Friday, and most items will be returned on the following collection day.
Holly from The Loaf Shack visits every other Saturday 10:30am – 1pm to sell her artisan sourdoughs, breads, cakes, traybakes, pastries, quiches, pies.
Hundreds of people use Hawkesbury Stores each week, so if you’re advertising your business, have lost an item in the village, or are selling something secondhand, why not pop your notice on our prominent in-store noticeboard? We charge 50p per week for ads up to A5 and £1 per week for A4. We don’t charge for funeral notices or event notices where proceeds are returned to local non-profit organisations.
We’re happy to sell tickets for appropriate local events, and raffle tickets for local causes without commission. Just provide us with the tickets and a float for change.
Cut down on packaging waste by using our refill tanks for Ecover laundry liquid, fabric conditioner and washing up liquid – all cheaper than Tesco’s standard prices! Just bring a measurable container and fill up with Ecover’s environmentally-friendly and skin-friendly products.
Enjoy your weekend newspapers while still in your pyjamas! We can deliver on Saturdays and Sundays for just 50p per delivery. Just let us know if you would like to take advantage of this service. A great weekend treat-to-self!
When our village shop was threatened with closure, Hawkesbury took action. In just a few months our community raised the money to buy the shop property and launch Hawkesbury Stores.
